Roy returned to Chicago Title Insurance in September 2020 as Underwriting Counsel in the Buffalo office, having previously served as an Assistant Vice President and Claims Counsel with Fidelity National Title Group. Prior to his return, Roy was in private practice, gaining valuable experience in both transactional and litigatory context. Such areas include real estate, bankruptcy, tax controversy and small business counseling.
A Buffalo native, Roy obtained his B.A. in Political Science from Canisius College, graduating magna cum laude. He then obtained his J.D. from the University at Buffalo School of Law. Roy is admitted to practice in the State of New York, all New York Federal District and Bankruptcy Courts, as well as the United States Tax Court. Roy is also a member of the Bar Association of Erie County, the New York State Bar Association and serves on the Board of Directors of the St. Thomas More Guild of Western New York.
